Behind the scenes with Fairfields Farm Crisps

Fairfields Farm Crisps supplies our favourite snack made using 100% British potatoes.

Family-run for three generations, Fairfields Farm grows potatoes on their Colchester-based farm that are used for making award-winning crisps (and the best buttery jacket potatoes you’ll ever taste!)

Hand cooked on site in a factory powered by renewable energy, each crisp is expertly fried to obtain that perfect crunch, before being bagged up – and you can try 3 of their flavours here at TOAST!

Sustainability and producing great-tasting crisps with the least environment impact is very important to the Essex-based firm. Fairfields Farm uses water collected during winter to irrigate the potatoes, use “digestate” fertiliser from the on-site anaerobic digester to nourish the potato crop and plant trees, hedges and cover crop to capture carbon. They even have their sights set on being the UK’s first carbon neutral crisp producer.

We’re extremely proud to work with Fairfields Farm Crisps, another independent, family owned, and British business to serve this amazing snack in all our stores. We believe in the power of local, and supporting as many other independent suppliers as we can. Together we can make a difference and shine a light on the way to do things right.
